Fundraiser May 2, 2009

On Saturday, May 2, 2009 lovers of vinyl records and music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, will dance to their favorite tunes to raise money for Manna Meal soup kitchen.

An “All Vinyl Dance Party & Art Exhibit” will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 1105 Quarrier Street in downtown Charleston,  8pm to 12 midnight. For a suggested $ 20 dollar donation you will receive  the privilege of listening to Mark Davis spin from his private collection as well as records pulled from John Nelson’s (Budget Tapes & Records) extensive library. Through out the night we will be giving out Door Prizes. There will be beer and wine for sale, accompanied by a table full of cold beverages and finger foods to feast on.

Vasilia Scouras will host an impromptu art exhibit featuring a growing list of local artists which include Eric Pardue, Joe Bolyard, Ian Bode, Jamie Miller, Todd Griffith, Dave Thomas, and Betty Gay.

“There’s music, there’s dancing, good food and art … and it’s for a good cause,” says Raj Pongsugree, lead Manna Meal cook and dance party coordinator.
